A stitch doesn't lie. You can talk about quality all day, but the second someone runs a finger over uneven thread tension or a crooked letter, the conversation is over.
This is the embroidery test for our first run — the words "Do What You Must" rendered in thread, not print. We chose stitching over a heat transfer because thread holds up to washing, wear, and years of use in a way that printed vinyl never will. It also costs more, takes longer, and fails more often during sampling. None of that mattered to us.
We rejected three versions before this one. The spacing was off in the first. The thread weight was wrong in the second. The third had a tension issue that would've shown up after a single wash cycle. Small things. The kind of things a customer would never consciously notice — but would feel, eventually, as the garment held its shape or didn't.
That's the part nobody sees: the rejected samples, the back-and-forth with the embroiderer, the extra week it took to get six words right. But it's also the only part that actually matters. The big decisions are easy to get right. It's the details that separate something built to last from something that just looks like it.
